Kafaji fires Hacken into Women's Champions League last eight
Rosa Kafaji scored the only goal to book Swedish club Hacken their ticket to the women's Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday with a 1-0 win at Real Madrid.
Forward Kafaji, 20, headed into the top of the net after an hour in Madrid to ensure Hacken joined Chelsea, Lyon, holders Barcelona, Benfica and Norwegian side Brann in the last eight.
The Swedish club finished second in Group D behind Chelsea, who ended Paris FC's hopes with a 4-0 rout in the French capital on Tuesday.
To advance Paris FC needed to beat Chelsea, who were already through, and hope Hacken failed to beat already-eliminated Madrid.
But Chelsea took control early with Jelena Cankovic setting up Fran Kirby to nod in after ten minutes and then Mia Fishel to head in the second, and her first Champions League goal, after 37 minutes.
Guro Reiten came off the bench and tapped in the third after 74 minutes with Maren Mjelde's fine flicked header five minutes later ending Paris FC's first Champions League run.
All remains to be played in Group C later Tuesday with Dutch club Ajax hosting Roma and Paris Saint-Germain at Bayern Munich, with each of the teams still in with a chance of going through.
