Czech Republic's Jurasek joins Benfica
Czech Republic defender David Jurasek has joined Portuguese champions Benfica until 2028, his club Slavia Prague said on Monday.
The Czech daily newspaper Sport reported Benfica had paid 14 million euros ($15.4 million) for the 22-year-old left-back.
Benfica reached the Champions League quarter-finals last season, crashing out at the hands of runners up Inter Milan.
"I'm looking forward," Jurasek said on Slavia's website.
"I watched Benfica's progress in the Champions League and I believe we can go further from there," he added.
Benfica also lifted their record 38th Portuguese title in May after a four-year drought.
"Welcome, Jurasek," read a tweet posted by Benfica after the signing.
Jurasek has played three internationals and has been in Czech Republic's starting line-up for all of their three Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Last month, Benfica announced the signing of Turkey midfielder Orkun Kokcu for a club record of 25 million euros ($26.9 million) from Feyenoord.
